Cory Sempler is an oil painter, printmaker, mixed media sculptor, stained glass artist, terrarium creator, and educator whose art is influenced by his work as a nature school teacher where he uses natural materials.
He also draws from the natural world to be more empowered as primarily a producer and not just a consumer.
Sempler also exercises inclusi
ve teaching practices that promote creative and independent thinking. He believes technique is important, but he also strives to find ways for his students to insert their identities into the art-making process. He plans to showcase his art and teach workshops at the Pier.
