A Celebration of Cultures Parranda
Join the Hispanic Heritage Association for a Celebration of Cultures Parranda on December 11 at Cherry Street Pier.
The Parranda is a type of traditional, folklore holiday music represented in many ways throughout Latin America. The music has deep roots in history, storytelling, and the holiday season. Enjoy music, artisans, and tasty food.
Folks are accustomed to bringing their own instruments. With the music, there are certain calls made and traditional dances created, often used as forms of expression in Indigenous and African cultures.
Gather with family and friends in the spirit of this special tradition. Historically, people walk from neighborhood to neighborhood gathering friends and neighbors to participate.
Cherry Street Pier is open 7-days-a-week, rain or shine.
