Opening Reception: We Are the Seeds presents “retrospection/continuance”

Join us for the opening reception of  “retrospection/continuance” presented by resident artist organization We Are the Seeds in partnership with The American Indian Community House (AICH) on Saturday, July 23, 2022, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Cherry Street Pier.

“retrospection/continuance” features work by ten well-known Native painters, some of them from early in their careers. They include Kevin Red Star (Crow), Rance Hood (Comanche), and Pena Bonita (Seminole/Apache). The exhibition also includes video excerpts from Spiderwoman Theater, New York’s all-Indigenous, all-female performance company that was founded in 1976 as a response to male-dominated activist spaces of the time — and is still running.
