Join resident artist Bonnie MacAllister for specialty workshops to learn different dyeing and fabric techniques. All skill levels. Registration required. Workshops take place in Studio 16 in the Pier.

Sunday, February 16, 2025, 1 pm – 3 pm:  Learn Botanical Dye Techniques – Create a Kerchief
Using fresh and dried flowers, create an original surface design using various botanical printing techniques. Flower pounding, also known as tataki zome, is an ancient Japanese technique that uses flowers and plants to create prints on fabric or paper. The process involves pounding flowers with a hammer to release their natural dyes onto the material. Cost: $25. Register Today.

Sunday, February 23, 2025, 1 pm – 3 pm: Botanical Wall Hanging
 Create an original wall hanging using botanical materials (wool and fibers optional). All materials are provided and locally sourced. Cost: $25. Register Today.

Sunday, March 9, 2025, 1 pm – 3 pm: Introduction to Nuno Felting – Create a Scarf
Learn how to transform farm-sourced fibers into an original garment. All materials included. All ages and abilities are encouraged. Cost: $35. Register Today.

Saturday, March 22, 2025, 1 pm – 3 pm: Felting Fairies (3D and 2D Fibers)
Design your own 2D or 3D felted fairy using fiber construction techniques, including needle felting and sewing. All materials provided. Cost: $25. Register Today.

Saturday, March 29, 2025, 2 pm – 4 pm: Intro to Embroidery: Spring Sewing Sampler
Using a spectrum of basic to more involved sculptural stitches, practice on an embroidery hoop and a guided sewable pattern book. All ages are welcome. Cost: $35. Register Today.
