Lady Hoofers National Tap Dance Day Jam
Join us for the Lady Hoofers National Tap Dance Day Jam on Friday, May 24, at the Pier from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
Tap dancers throughout the U.S. and worldwide celebrate tap dance as an American art form each year on Bill “Bojangles” Robinson’s birthday on May 25. Celebrate with an open tap jam at the Pier. Tap dancers of all ages are invited to bring their shoes to improvise, learn about the holiday’s namesake with a reading of the children’s book “Rap a Tap Tap,” and join us in the Shim Sham Shimmy, tap dance’s (inter)national anthem.
