Cherry Street Pier resident artist Caroline Stoughton debuts first solo exhibition in New York this spring
The Cherry Street Pier creative community is excited to share that 2025 cohort member Caroline Stoughton will present her first solo exhibition in Brooklyn, New York, this month.
This stunning new debut comes just in time for warmer weather and follows her recent solo exhibition at Cherry Street Pier, “Life’s Wild,” which ran in January and focused on the essence of animal life by featuring more than 20 paintings of various animal species.
This new body of work, “Inflorescene,” revisits Caroline’s signature style as she celebrates the boldness of plant life. “Inflorescene” describes the complete structure of a flowering plant – the arrangement of blooms, stems, and growth. The exhibition mirrors this concept by featuring paintings that capture the full spectrum of elements that define Caroline’s work – her interplay with color, texture, and organic form creates visual landscapes that invite viewers into a new world.
Each piece reveals an ecosystem of its own—some elements call for closer examination, others offer a rare moment of stillness. This work is not confined to a single meaning or plant species; it transforms over time, revealing new interpretations with every encounter.
Experience the beauty of “Inflorescence” through March 31 in the Lobby at The Bellslip, 1 Bell Slip, Brooklyn, NY 11222. The exhibition is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.
