Philadelphia’s creative community can become a Programming Partners in Residence. This opportunity allows individual creators or organizations to bring arts programming to the Pier through workshops, performances, seminars, and other arts-focused experiences, utilizing the Pier’s event spaces to house these new endeavors.
With a year-long residency between February 2025 and January 2026, participants can program workshops, markets, concerts, performances, exhibitions, and more at the Pier. This opporunity excludes studio space, but participants will have preferential access to performance and event spaces on the Pier, an opportunity to interact with hundreds of thousands of visitors throughout the year, an active part of the Pier’s artist community, and a collaborative relationship with the programming, marketing, and operations teams at the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC).
Programming Amenities:
- The use of public space at Cherry Street Pier.
- Potential to program events at other DRWC public park locations, such as Independence Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest/Summerfest, Race Street Pier, and Spruce Street Harbor Park
- Timely access to the Pier’s calendar for selection of programming/event dates
- Ability to utilize Cherry Street Pier and/or DRWC as a site for grant applications and other grant support as possible from the DRWC team
- Administrative and planning support from the programming team
- Social media and marketing support for your onsite events and programing from the DRWC Marketing team
- Access to facility support from our onsite maintenance and security team
- Access to general amenities on the Pier, including an LED Screen and built-in sound system with a microphone
- 24/HR access to a shared storage space
Programming Requirements:
- A minimum of four (4) free public events/programs during the residency (additional events encouraged)
- Participating in monthly residency meetings
- An enthusiasm and interest in collaborating with the other Programming and Artists in Residence

The Craft Coven
The Craft Coven is a community-minded arts and crafts organization run by local artist, educator, and maker Cassie Jones. The organization has hosted creative events for the adult community in Philly bars, restaurants, and home basements for over nine years. The Coven runs a monthly Drink and Draw at Newbold Exchange in South Philly, an affordable clay program, and a donation-based sewing and repair social event out of Starr Garden Rec Center. Other events like Learning Leatherwork, Stained Glass, and Collage Open Studios are hosted at their Old City Underground studio at 10 North 3rd Street. Review all Craft Coven events.
Orchestra 2001
Orchestra 2001 is a collective of adventurous, virtuoso performers dedicated to the music of our time. The ensemble strives to be an international leader in connecting diverse audiences with the most incredible music of the 20th and 21st centuries, engaging new listeners through exhilarating concerts, innovative artistic collaborations, and enriching community partnerships. They have presented programs with 1 to 80 performers at the Kimmel Center, Barnes Foundation, World Cafe Live, The Fillmore, and other indoor and outdoor venues. At Cherry Street Pier, Orchestra 2001 will present informal concerts, educational activities, and more.
SunKissed Group
The SunKissed Group brings dynamic, inclusive programming that amplifies multicultural women and non-binary content creators. Through curated events, hands-on workshops, and community-building experiences, we provide creators with the resources, connections, and strategies to elevate their brands and expand their influence. Our signature initiatives, including Wine & Create and The SunKissed Collective , foster creativity, collaboration, and business growth. Rooted in Philadelphia, we are dedicated to amplifying diverse voices and transforming the digital creator landscape.
Walk Around Philadelphia
Walk Around Philadelphia is a segmented 100+ mile walk around the entire city border organized by artist JJ Tiziou that happens twice a year in February and September, with other programs throughout the year. Participants can join for any individual segment as they can or set out to do it on their own anytime. The Walk brings people together in shared physical and cultural experiences that connect them to their bodies, neighbors, and Philadelphia’s landscape. As the group collectively explores the city’s boundaries, they work to make the unique experiences of the city’s edge accessible to all.
Walls for Justice
Walls for Justice began painting unifying social justice messages on plywood boards covering storefront windows during the civil unrest and nationwide protests in 2020. Today, the organization operates as a catalyst that brings art and social change together. Working with public spaces, schools, and museums, as well as partnering with local businesses to hire local artists, Walls For Justice is pushing the future forward by creating positive change through art.
